Following permanent standing or sitting many people experience heavy legs, pain or swelling. For many of them many hours standing and sitting is a concomitant of their profession (teachers, hairdressers, surgeons, office workers etc.) The formula VeinProteX may offer help in this problem, as especially it is developed for supporting the health of veins.
We spend most of our lives on our feet; consequently we (should) pay extra attention to the health of our legs. It is not a mere esthetic question; prolonged strain may significantly wear our legs, the first signs of which are swelling, pain and feeling of heaviness in legs. The complaints may be increased by overweight, or inadequate (however often fashionable) footwear.
We would not even think how hard our veins work on a daily basis. They must pump low oxygenated blood upward against gravity, in the direction of our heart. The daily amount of this may reach as much as 7000 liters.
We can support the health of our veins with many practical things, which characteristically should be applied externally (cold baths, massages, propping up legs), but people usually resort to them only in case of already developed complaints. The use of these is unquestionable, but we should think as well of prevention. The active agents of VeinProteX support the health and healthy functioning of veins. Grape seed is the basis of the formula supporting the health of veins. Its polyphenolic components (for example oligomeric proanthocyanidins, compare OPC) may promote the protection of cells against the damaging effects of free radicals. Hesperidin complex and vitamin C have antioxidant effect. The latter, besides its many other beneficial effects participates in maintaining the normal structure of blood vessels. In addition to the above, it contains the extract of two other precious plants, ginger and turmeric.

Many realize how useful concealing winter clothes were only when good weather sets in and shorter skirts and trousers from the bottom of the wardrobe come to light. Even if we could not spare enough time to do so in the winter, it is good to know that it is never too late to start caring for the condition of our legs.
The phenomenon colloquially referred to as varicose veins actually means the dilatation and visible bulging of veins which – in addition to meaning an esthetic problem for many – may have serious health consequences as well. Appearance of spider veins, aching, swelling legs that could swell up by the end of the day can all be warning signs to pay more attention to the health of your legs. In summer these symptoms inhibit many people from wearing short length clothing or going to the beach, but it should be noted that it is not only a simple esthetic problem but a widespread disease.
On our limbs several veins run close to the surface of the skin and surrounded by muscles in the deeper layers and they are connected by smaller veins. The task of our veins is to collect “used” blood from tissues and transport them to the heart and lungs where in turn it “refreshes” and becomes rich in nutrients and oxygen again. To maintain venous circulation, contraction of skeletal muscles, healthy functioning of valves found in veins as well as alternation of pressure conditions upon inhalation and exhalation are necessary. Muscles in our legs contract and tighten at every step we make, so they practically exert a “pumping” effect on the veins they surround. Meanwhile, valves found in veins (as long as they are healthy) prevent blood from flowing back to limbs upon contraction of muscles by a principle of operation similar to that of a trap-door, guaranteeing a one-way direction of blood flow. Additionally, venous circulation is promoted by the work of the heart and lungs. Perhaps many people wonder why that much support is required, but remember that venous circulation in the greatest part of our body works against gravity almost all the time.
Caption: normal venous function – insufficient venous function
A family history, wrong way of life (smoking, sedentary lifestyle), pregnancy, overweight, connective tissue weakness and some other environmental factors (for example certain professions) may increase the risk of venous diseases. “Risky” professions are activities requiring standing position (hairdressers, waitresses/waiters, salespersons, teachers), that is in these cases blood according to gravity flows back and stagnates, which could result in swelling around ankles and shins. Other accompanying symptoms are pain, swelling, sensation of “heavy legs”, and maybe calf spasms. These symptoms may occur or become more intense during or after menopause or due to obesity.
As always, it is expedient to concentrate on prevention, while you can do so. You can do the most for the health of your veins by exercising regularly, following a healthy diet, composed of antioxidant-rich basic materials and by not being overweight. Do not forget to do some exercise with your legs while you are sitting or standing all day as well. There is no need for acrobatic exercises requiring a lot of space. It is enough to do some foot circling and rising on tiptoes every 1-2 hours, which does a lot to maintain a healthy venous circulation.
Many know already that the health of your veins can be supported from the inside as well. In the network of CaliVita several dietary supplements feature which indirectly support the health of your veins. They include products containing vein-protecting antioxidants (for example Resveratrol Plus,Liquid C+Bioflavonoids , Smokerade), formulas complementing weight reduction diets (for example Slim Formula, ChromiumMax 500, XShape), or products which help maintain healthy cholesterol levels (for example Garlic Caps,Cholestone ).
However, there are 2 complex formulas which we have been developed bearing in mind the direct protection and support of venous functions and health.
We have selected the active ingredients of the tablet Vein ProteX to support our efforts of prevention. The basis of the formula is grape seed extract which has an excellent effect on blood vessel walls and the main active ingredient of which is the so called OPC (OligomericProanthocyanidinComplex), which due to its powerful antioxidant properties may help maintain and protect the health of our veins. Vitamin C protects our veins on many fronts. On the one hand its well-known powerful antioxidant effect assists the work of the body in the battle against free radicals, and on the other hand, in addition to its numerous beneficial effects it stimulates the formation of collagen and elastane which participate in building up veins walls. Hesperidin complex may also do a lot against harmful free radicals and supports the utilization of vitamin C. Added MSM (Methyl Sulphonyl Methane) may already be familiar from our products supporting joints but it is a versatile compound as well just like all the other gifts of nature in general. It promotes the synthesis of connective tissue proteins and participates in maintaining the integrity of blood vessels. The formula also includes turmeric and ginger extracts , which we can use not only to season our food but they may be beneficial to our health as well.
Our other product, which we have created especially for the health of legs is Vein Care cream. One of its main ingredients is hirudin, a protein-like substance, which can be found in the saliva of leeches. Leeches themselves use it as anticoagulant so it is clear why it is an important element of folk and modern medicine in treating varicose legs. In addition to the fact that it may prevent blood stagnation, it may also eliminate the sensation of tired, swollen legs. Moreover, it has an esthetic effect in that it renders dry skin soft and silky. Its other important component is the extract of Siegesbeckia orientalis (Makino), a herb originating from South-East Asia, which may help eliminate redness and soothe skin. It is recommended to massage gently into the skin 2-3 times daily, with upward movements from the ankles, further supporting the circulation by doing so.
Please note that with a little care you can do much for the health and appearance of your legs.
